The fisherman needs to have quality equipment like fishing lures to make a dream catch on the fishing day. This is all possible if a fisherman have the right kind of items required to catch fish. This also improve your chances of getting that big catch on the line. The right fishing lures, rods and a strong line is necessary for having a better chance of catching the catch of the day.

However, getting hold of live baits for the fishing activity can be a difficult proposition. Therefore, the best option for the fisherman would be to make use of the fishing lures and other quality equipments to get a big catch.

Fishing lures are very useful as they replicate the real movements made by any prey used as live bait. The colors of the prey are also shown in a similar manner. The fisherman can set the traps for multiple fish as the fishing lures have multiple hooks attached to it. This helps the fisherman catch more fish at a time.

Once the fish is attracted to the fishing lure, it bites the same while being trapped in the hook and being pulled out of the water by the fisherman. The lures are attached to the fishing poles and are inserted into the water to catch the fishes. The lures are reeled back by the fisherman to display the movement of the actual bait.

When the correct type of reeling action is used, the fisherman can show them off as live baits to a potential catch. Once the fish gets attracted to the lures, they try to bite it. During this action, the hook gets set in the mouth of the fish helping the fisherman to reel the fish from the water.

However, fisherman should be careful about selecting lure for their fishing activity. The right fishing lures needs to be used for the environment and the kind of fish that the fisherman wants to catch. Some of the common fishing lures are soft baits, spoon lures, plugs, and flies. Spoon lures reflect light from the water as they move creating the impression of small fish.

For the fly-fishing activity the fisherman should make use of the artificial flies' kind of lure. This is because the lure can be made to hop on the surface of the water showing themselves as small insects. The fish gets attracted to the hopping action and tries to bite the lure. Once they do that, the hook is attached to their face allowing the fisherman to pull them out of the water. Soft baits are also used for the fishing activity. These baits replicate organisms such as frogs and worms. They are made of plastic or rubber.

Fishing the flats in Florida used to be a frustrating experience for me. For one thing, that crazy Florida weather played havoc with my plans. One minute it's fair, the next minute a thunderstorm has moved in, and has settled down for hours. All I wanted to do was fish the flats in peace.

The host of Fishing the Flats, Henry Waszczuk, has himself dipped into the skinny waters of Charlotte Harbor for cold-weather hunting of redfish, as well as many other Floridian fishing grounds. Fishing the Flats in Florida could be a weekly series all by itself.

The appeal of fly fishing the flats is easy to understand. Perched on a fishing platform on a typical shallow water skiff, an angler first of all takes in great scenery. To fish the flats means to enjoy the peace of the Florida shoreline, with miles of salt marshes, native birds and swaying pine trees.

Low tide will find you in 12 inches of water, staring down into a sandy bottom thatched with turtle grass, or a muddy bottom dotted with manatee grass. Either way, the fish will be darting around, hunting baitfish, or in cool weather sunning themselves against the sand. He who would fish the flats in search of redfish will do best with an 8-weight rod, with a floating line.

When fishing the flats in Florida, the choices of site are endless. If you don't want to worry about tides, you could fish the flats around Mosquito Lagoon, or the Banana River Lagoon. This area is part of the Indian River Lagoon system, world famous for its redfish.

What about further afield? Fishing the flats TV seeks bonefish in the Bahamas, an outsize specimen called roosterfish in the exotic environs of Costa Rica, and shark, of all things, in Long Island, Bahamas. Fishing the flat marshy waters of Louisiana is an unforgettable experience, poling a skiff along back waters dimmed and darkened by Spanish moss draped trees.

I'll never forget one morning in particular, last summer, when I spotted a bunch of redfish hanging around a rocky creek mouth, going to town on some mullet. I landed the fly right in front of 'em, and before you knew it, I was fly fishing the flats like the pros on Fishing the Flats TV.

And of course, there's always the Everglades National Park in the southern part of the state. Fishing the flat waters of the Everglades is an angler's dream, providing not only excellent shallow water fishing, but the chance to see up close the best of Florida's wild animal and plant life. Truly, the hardest part of fishing the flats in Florida is choosing where to go.

When we think of antique fishing lures, we often imagine the tools that our forfathers must have used for fishing. Yet, some people collect antique fishing lures and even use them from time to time. There is a difference between new lures which are designed to look sleek and reminiscent of the live bait and older ones which do not have this particular appearance. In fact the word that best describes antique fishing lures is stiffness. They also try to replicate a partial look of the insects used in fishing.

There are interesting stories to tell about some of the antique fishing lures you use or collect. Normally, classic lures can be used with any type of fish, with some exceptions due to variation, species and habitat. There is rather little information on antique fishing lures, given the fact that new models receive most of the attention.

Although a different terminology is used for antique fishing lures, classic or old models are still available with some stores. Auction houses and some Internet sites may be the right places to visit for such acquisitions. The models, the prices and the availability vary from store to store, but if you are keen on finding precisely an older model, you may get it after a persistent search. Sometimes you have the chance to find these old lures in modern specialized shops, too. Hobbists could also give one some hints about where to find more for your collection.

When searching the Internet for antique fishing lures, you may also come across some very interesting materials on the history of fishing, the evolution of fishing gear and the tradition of the manufacturers. Books, online guides and magazines could also be of great help for the matter.

Some antique fishing lures are sold for small fortunes, but there are buyers for them despite the very high costs. These lures are the ones that have been carefully put to rest for far more than eighty years in mature collections and are just now seeing the light of day. To give some approximated price, we'd say they range between $1,000 and $5,000. They usually end up in the possession of passionate collectors who belong to exclusive groups. From time to time other collectors try to step into this group but they cannot be considered buyers at the first level.

Like trophy fish, bass can be elusive, They prefer certain times of day to eat, which means that you may have to cater to picky fish that only want certain times of food one part of the day, and other types of food in another part of the day.

This means that if you already have an established fishing kit, you can usually modify your kit to allow for bass fishing. Both of these fish can be caught using similar methods of fishing. As bass fishing is so popular, all tackle stores in bass areas will carry everything that you need so as to catch fish. As some species of bass are threatened, it is suggested that if you are not certain if the fish you have captured is legal, you immediately release the fish. These are the small mouth and the large mouth bass.

There are two types of fish targeted when bass fishing. This will make certain that you have the supplies required to catch your bass. Bass fishing is one of the most remarkable forms of fishing. This is due to the fact that bass are known to put up a good fight when hooked, and have great taste. If you are planning a bass fishing venture, you will want to ensure that you check the local regulations for bass season, and make certain that you do not over fish bass.

Even so, many people prefer to target large mouth bass when bass fishing, as these fish are thought to have superior flavor as well as a better fight. In addition to this, bass fishing can be done in many places across the United States and Canada, making these fish easily accessible to those who do not have the funds or motivation to travel long distances for steelhead, salmon and other trophy fish. In the case of striped bass, also known as rock fish, over catching the limit can result in hefty fines. There are some issues when bass fishing that you should keep in mind.

For this reason, many people who go bass fishing will take many types of baits and lures with them when they go. Bass will strike surface and mid water, as well as bottom lures, and can also be hooked while fly fishing. There are several styles you can utilize when bass fishing, which makes this sport enjoyable for all types of anglers. Most regions that allow bass fishing have rules in place on the numbers of bass that can be kept.

If you're an avid sports fisherman, a professional fisherman or just someone who enjoys dipping your line in the water and relaxing every so often, then chances are you either know about or have used a spinning fishing reel.

Since they are very easy to use, spinning fishing reels are very popular and can be used for many different types of fishing. They have almost no back lash which saves you time and frustration untangling your line.

There are primarily 3 kinds of spinning reels available in the market. The first is the ultra-light variety that can bear test lines ranging between 2 to 6 pounds. The prices range between $5 to $200 depending on the quality and brand.

The second variety is the light spinning reels. They fall in the moderate variety, which makes them a much revered variety owing to the one-size-fits-all kind of flexibility. They are commonly used by light tackle anglers and give you an absolutely stunning fish fighting experience when you reel it back in. These cost from $6 to around $250 and above.

The third and final variety is the heavy spinning reel and is ideal for big game hunting. These reels can withstand up to fifty pounds and are commonly used for bottom fishing. These can cost from $10 to an astounding $900. If you are looking to fish big fishes, then this one will be the best.

If you are on the look out for spinning reels, the best thing to do is to go to a fishing supply shop and ask the shop assistant questions that will help you make a knowledgeable decision based on what kind of fish you want to catch, what type of waters you will be fishing in, what variety of tackle you have/use, and so on. You can also consider buying a fishing reel online as they can be cheaper than the retail prices. If you spend some time scouting, you will definitely end up getting a spinning fishing reel for a bargain that you can enjoy for a long time to come.

Fishing equipment is called fishing tackle by specialists and hobbyists and it generally includes to rods, lines, hooks, sinkers, spears, lures, bait, reels, nets, and et cetera. The fishing gear that is attached at the end of a line is called terminal tackle

The word tackle referring to fishing equipment comes from 'takel' which first meant the rigging of a ship, that is, the equipment consisting of ropes supporting a ship's masts and sails. Later, the same word was recorded as having a different meaning, that of equipment for fishing and that meaning has been preserved ever since.

The most rudimentary fishing equipment consists of a rod, a line, a hook, a lure, a bait and a weight or sinker. The line is a basic string especially made for fishing that is both long, strong and yet thin, so that fish can not see it. There are several questions that an angler asks when buying a fishing line, like its resistance, stretch, strength and so on. The line will be selected depending on what species of fish the angler wants to catch.

The sinker or weight, also called a plummet, is really only a weight that assists in casting the hook and the bait as far as possible from the shoreline or from the boat that the fisherman is using. They are usually made of lead as their purpose is also to sink and to get the bait closer to the fish in the water as quickly as possible. However, lead sinkers have been banned in some parts of the world, especially the really small ones, which are often called 'shot'. If eaten by birds or other fish, the lead, which is known for its high toxicity level, will cause the death of the animal.

Another elementary piece of fishing equipment is the hook. This device meant for holding the bait on the line and for hooking into the fish's mouth. It is fastened to the line and the angler can select from a pretty variety of shapes and sizes.

And last but far from least, is the bait or lure, without which fishing equipment cannot be effective. A lure is a man-made device tied at the end of the line that resembles the prey of the fish you are after in every way. Its raison d'etre is to attract the attention of the fish with its colour shape and movement. Artificial flies, tiddlers and sand eels come into under this category. When the fish eats the lure, it becomes hooked.

On the other hand, bait is the stuff actually attached to the hook. Bait is basically of two types: animal or foodstuff: 'animal' referring to small fish or other water creatures, insects or crawlers and 'foodstuff' referring to human food like grains, such as hemp, bread or whatever else the fisherman thinks might attract the type of fish he's going for.

One of the most regular baits that are in use today is the wobbler. It is truly an interesting bait to fish with, and everyone who even has a vague plan of fishing in the future would have interest in hearing what it is an how it works.

The main goal of a wobbler is to look as much as an injured fish as possible. You can easily find them in the store by looking for the bait that looks most like a real fish.

The thing that makes wobblers special is the spoon they have in front. The spoon, or guiding spoon, is what decides at what dept the wobbler will swim. It also has some effect on the "wobbly" motion of the bait.

As wobblers have shown that they can catch just about any kind of fish, a lot of companies have started to produce their own variants. The brand of wobblers that most people have heard of is Rapala. They are rightly credited as the creators of wobblers, and have a long history of producing them.

The types of wobblers are usually divided in three categories. These categories are floating, sinking and suspending. Each has their own advantages, and it is important that you use the right one when you fish.

The floating wobbler is bait that floats when you dont put any pressure on it and sinks when reeled in or pulled after a boat. It is very good for fishing in shallow water.

A sinking wobbler is also used quite often. It is a lure that gives the fisherman an opportunity to reach deep water. It sinks when no pressure is on it and rises when reeled in or pulled.

Suspending wobblers is in the middle of the floating and sinking types. Its density makes it float in the water when you don't do anything with it. You can get it in editions that rises when reeled in or editions that sinks when a force is put on it.

Next to Spring, Fall can be the most productive time to be out on the lake fishing for Crappie. The water is cooling off and Crappie feed more and more aggressive. Crappie fishing in the Fall is some of the most enjoyable and fruitful fishing of the year.

As the water cools off in the Fall, hungry Crappie move from their deep water Summer hangouts to the cooler water of the shallows as they follow baitfish toward the shore. It's not uncommon to find Fall Crappie as shallow as 1 or 2 feet deep along a bank in the Fall. Once the first few cold fronts of the year move in, start looking for Fall Crappie near the first drop off away from the bank.

Fall Crappie can be caught with a variety of tactics in the Fall. One method I use to find Crappie when they're scattered is using a Spider Rig. A Spider Rig consist of multiple rods rigged up to fish different depths. When you find Crappie hitting at a certain depth with this method, you can then set all your rods to the depth Crappie are feeding at and take advantage of their aggressive nature.

As most of you know, the best time to go fishing in the Fall is just prior to a major cold front. This is the time you can find Crappie very shallow filling up their stomachs on everything from Shad to insects.

Post cold front Crappie can be hard to get to hit your bait. I typically use smaller jigs and minnows. If the weather warms up after the cold front, look for Crappie to become active as soon as a week after the passage of the cold front.

If you're having trouble finding Fall Crappie after a cold front. Slow down your presentation and use smaller jigs or minnows. Post cold front Crappie won't chase bait very far, so make sure you put it right in front of their face. If you find them holding over a break or drop off, use a tightline approach to target feeding Crappie.

Typically the cold temps after a Fall front doesn't last long. As the days warm up, you'll find the Crappie moving back shallow again. If the water is still a little cool, then start your search on a South facing bank and work your way out.

South winds can blow baitfish against the shore, presenting easy pickings for hungry Crappie. Use a Spider Rig or a Float and Jig rig to target these fish and fill your live well! Floats and jigs can be fished faster than minnows, plus since there is not rebaiting, you can keep your jigs in the water longer, catching more fish.

Bass fishing tips come in quite handy especially when you are a beginner. First of all, it would be a good thing to know that bass are fish whose metabolism depends on the temperature of water. Their metabolism rises proportionally with increased water temperature. If the water where they live is cold, as it is in deeper waters, they are less active and so need to eat less.

Therefore, around about January, you should start bass fishing in increasingly warmer waters because the bass will want to leave the colder deeper waters so that they can spawn. Furthermore, during the Autumn/Fall the bass begin to move towards colder and deeper waters where they would be safer during the cold season. But fishermen should not expect them to migrate great distances all that quickly because their cycles of moving from one place to the next as the seasons do take several months.

It is also good to know when bass fishing that these fish are very sociable. They tend to stick together in schools, especially those of the same size. Therefore, if you have already caught some bass, you are likely to catch more in the same area as long as you do not throw the dead fish you've already caught back into the water to panic the rest of the school.

Furthermore, bass fishing areas are quite easy to find. You should remember that they are predators but not really very active ones since their favourite food is not actually one they have to fight to get. Rather, they wait patiently and lazily for prey to swim past and then they ambush it.

Bass fish often go for struggling or slow prey even if they are not normally on their usual diet. Their usual diet consists of crawfish, minnows, worms, insects, frogs and such like. Once a fisherman has learned these facts about bass, together with their mating customs, catching them is much easier and much more frequent.

But, don't forget that bass are also prey themselves and so they need protection as well, which is why the most successful bass fishing is carried out in areas where the fish can find safety: for example in and around rocks of any size, weeds and any other shady or indeed sunny, well-lit areas where it is difficult for them to be attacked.

However, success at bass fishing also depends on the type of bait the fisherman uses. The bait should be varied according to both the season " spring, summer, autumn or winter " and the spawning cycle of this fish. Beginners should take heart from the fact that there are always experienced anglers ready to provide a tip - don't be afraid to ask because the most effective bait does vary from one region to the next.

Catching a pike is not as easy as it sounds. There is a few things we need to know to be able to get one in the net. The key point is best illustrated with an example.

There are many similarities in the animal kingdom. When watching animal programs you can see these similarities, and the differences if pay attention. Wolves and lions are similar in many ways, but there is one thing that separates them in particular.

The wolf is a predator that can chase a prey for days. Just following it and tiring it until it falls down. This is a tactic that is commonly used by another fish, the salmon. It too chases its prey around in the water until it catches up.

When we see a lion, on the other hand, we can see a totally different strategy used. It waits in high grass for its prey to come walking by. It then rushes out of its hiding place with extreme pace and catches the poor animal. This can be compared to the way that a Pike catches its prey. It finds a hiding spot, and waits for food to swim by just like the lion.

What can we learn from this? Well, a couple of things actually. First of all we learn that we should usually fish close to a likely hiding place. These places are always good pike spots, and should be identified as soon as you approach the water.

Another thing that we can tell is that we can often find the pike close to the bottom. This is usually where the best hiding spots are, and therefore the pike likes to be there.

So what should we use to catch a pike? the first thing that comes to mind is a sinking wobbler. A wobbler is a lure that is very similar to a real fish. Not only that. It is very much like an injured real fish. Therefore it looks like an easy target for the pike. Another popular bait is the live baits. These have often showed a very impressive catch.
